What You Should Know About Rose Hips
The rose hip is the fleshy false fruit of a rose. The shape can be round, elongated or bottle-shaped. Depending on the species and variety of rose, the colour can be red, orange, purple or black. The rose is found in Europe, Asia, South America and North America.
Something about Rosehip Cultivation
When harvesting rose hips for the various uses, they are usually left on the bush until after the first frost, which gives them a nice bright red colour and also softens them somewhat. The remaining blooms are then pruned off and the rose hip is cut as close as possible to the base of the swollen globular hips of the bush.
Healthy properties Rosehip
Rose hips are rich in vitamin C and also contain vitamins A, B1, B2. There is currently research on the effect of rosehips in reducing arthritis pain.
