Corn starch of Maizena
Corn starch is the starch from corn kernels. It is mainly used as a binding agent in the kitchen, but you can also make glucose syrup from it. Maizena is the brand name of the first producers of corn starch in America in 1862.
Production process organic corn starch
Our organic corn kernels are ground, washed and dried. Conventionally, corn kernels are often first soaked in a solution of Sulfur Dioxide to soften them. Sulphur dioxide (SO2), you know, the stuff that makes acid rain. After processing, the starch has to be washed again to bring the sulphur dioxide level back to a safe level. Our organic corn starch is obtained in a way that doesn't involve the use of SO2 and is therefore completely free of sulfur dioxide.
